How to add storage from external storage array

There is an external storage drawer installed in the Power on Wheels tower for you to use as

additional storage if needed for data or applications. The following provides a description of

how to add this storage to your VIO servers and client LPARs for use in the configuration.

For more information see the included documentation DVD for some redbooks that provide

some detailed information on how to assign storage to VIO Server. These documents can be

found in the /VIO Server directory of the CD and the documents are called sg247940.pdf this

gives a good guide to adding devices using the vio server.

There is another redp4194.pdf that discusses best practices for VIO. Both of these provide

examples of the commands used for configuration.

There are a few LUNs assigned to the VIO LPARs in the form of 300Gb disk. To see this

you can telnet or ssh to the VIO Server using id padmin and password pwd4bib
