InSync

LDAP Database Agent

This section describes how to install and configure the LDAP Database Agent for

synchronization with:

• IBM Directory Server

• Netscape LDAP Server

• RedHat Directory Server

• Sun Java Directory Server

Installation Prerequisites

The Synchronization Agent for UNIX/Linux Servers must be installed to provide

communications with the InSync Server, as detailed on page

Before installing the LDAP Database Agent, you must create a Service Account

for the Agent to perform the password resets. The Service account must be

assigned the privileges to logon and reset any user account.

Installing the LDAP Database Agent

To install the Agent, copy the installation file for your agent to /tmp. Then

install using the following command:

Where filename is the LDAP Database Agent filename for your platform.

# cd /opt/quest/insync

# gzip -dfc /tmp/insldapfilename.zip | tar xvf -
