InSync

Configuring the Agent

To configure the Agent, run the following command:

When prompted:

1. Select y to continue with the configuration.

2. Accept the default installation location. This is the current directory.

3. Select s to configure the Agent as a synchronization Agent.

4. Accept the default user account of root.

5. Enter an agent ID for the resource, for example, the hostname of the

resource.

6. Enter the hostname or IP Address of the InSync Server host.

7. Enter the port number 511. This is used to communicate with the

InSync Server.

8. Select n, the case of user IDs will not be converted.

9. Select n, the case of passwords will not be converted.

10. Select y to enable maximum synchronization.

11. Select y to restart the Agent after an error.

12. Enter 30 as the number of seconds to wait before restarting.

13. Select n, user exits will not be used.

14. Select e to enable global synchronization.

15. Accept the default global synchronization exceptions list.

16. Enter a list of any user IDs that will be excluded from InSync. (Press

Space followed by Enter to not exclude any users).

17. Select n, not configure logging.

18. Select n, not to start the Agent.
