NEC ESMPRO Agent
It is instructions about NEC ESMPRO Agent it does not depend on OS or become the same phenomenon by
the plural OS.

Requirements: Less than NEC ESMPRO Agent Ver.4.5.8-1
Correction: NEC ESMPRO Agent Ver.4.5.8-1
Description: When ESMcmn, ESMlan or ESMsmsrv service stops, by a timing of the internal processing,
segfault occurs. When a phenomenon occurs, the following messages are recorded in a syslog.
kernel: ESMXXXXX[0000]: segfault at 0000000000000000 rip 0000000000000000 rsp 0000000000000000
error 4
* The value indicating PID and the address varies according to the situation.
Solution: Update to NEC ESMPRO Agent Ver.4.5.8-1 or later. If NEC ESMPRO Agent Ver.4.5.8-1 or later for
operating environment is not released, evade it in the following procedures.
Evasion: Execute the following command so that NEC ESMPRO Agent re-starts.
# /opt/nec/esmpro_sa/bin/ESMRestart

Correction: NEC ESMPRO Agent Ver.4.5.6-1.
Description: Because handling of getenv using in setenv and gethostbyname_r which are the system call of
OS competes when ESMamvmain service starts, and getenv refers to unjust address, by a timing, segfault
occurs. When a phenomenon occurs, the following messages are recorded in a syslog.
kernel: ESMamvmain[0000]: segfault at 0000000000000000 rip 0000000000000000 rsp

Solution: Update to NEC ESMPRO Agent Ver.4.5.6-1 or later. If NEC ESMPRO Agent Ver.4.5.6-1 or later for

Evation: Start ESMamvmain.
# /etc/rc.d/init.d/ESMamvmain start
Cannot sometimes detect temperature abnormality, voltage abnormality, fan
abnormality.
Requirements: Less than NEC ESMPRO Agent Ver.4.5.2-1.
Correction: NEC ESMPRO Agent Ver.4.5.2-1.
Description: The following phenomena are generated without being able to detect temperature abnormality,
voltage abnormality, fan abnormality.
- The icon color of NEC ESMPRO Manager should become abnormal (red), but does not originally change
as warning (yellow) indication. Therefore the contradiction with the main body of server status lamp occurs.
- Report processing is not carried out.
Solution: Update to NEC ESMPRO Agent Ver.4.5.2-1 or later. If NEC ESMPRO Agent Ver.4.5.2-1 or later for
